What studies measured
What did eye vitamin studies measure, and over how long?
They measured disease over years, not comfort over weeks. In AREDS, the formula lowered the risk of advanced AMD by about 25% over five years, in people who already had intermediate or late AMD (NEI, AREDS2).
That formula used set amounts of lutein, zeaxanthin, vitamins C and E, zinc and copper. Zeaxan has no C, E, zinc or copper and prints no lutein amount, so those results do not carry over. A Cochrane review found lutein and zeaxanthin alone showed little effect (Cochrane, 2023), and NEI found no benefit for people without AMD (NEI, 2020).

Will Zeaxan make your eyesight clearer?
No ingredient in Zeaxan has been shown to do that. The brand panel's "Support Clear & Healthy Sight" is the seller's wording, and rigorous bilberry trials found no better night vision (Canter and Ernst, 2004).
If your vision is getting blurry, that is a reason to book an exam, not to wait on a supplement. AAO advises an eye exam by age 40 and every one to two years after 65 (AAO, 2021).

Which eye changes should never wait for a supplement to work?
